At the Monastery of the Virgin Mary of Kazan in Russia, there is one more depiction of the Christ as Pantocrator. The icon was hagiographed in the 16th century, when Ivan IV the Terrible was in power, and it constitutes a typical hagiography sample of Christ of the Russian School, having been inspired by the first icon of Christ Pantocrator, in the first half of the 6th century, the encaustic icon that is located in the Monastery of St. Catherine of Sinai.
