Saint Damian
Born in the village Myrichovo of Agrafa in 1510 A.D., Saint Damian the Monk loved the monastic life and went to the monastery of Philotheos at Mount Athos. He became an ascetic next to Dometius for three years, where it is said that he heard the voice of God. He preached the word of God in the area of Olympus, Larissa and Kissavos, and ended up in Agrafa, where he founded the monastery of Panagia Pelekiti. He was accused of being a demagogue and was forced to leave and go to Kissavos, where he built another monastery dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. He was arrested by the Turks, was tortured and killed. He received the crown of martyrdom in 1568 A.D.
