Saint Neonylla

Saint Neonylla lived during the times of the emperor Diocletian. She was aristocratic, polite, educated, descending of a noble family. She married very young and was widowed at only the age of 24. Affluent and beautiful, she became a pole of attraction for many who coveted to stand by her side; however, she had no interest in them having declared her faith in Christ. She was led to court to renounce her faith and to confess faith to pagan idols. Her refusal led to an agonizing death. Her memory is celebrated on January 27.
