Saint Paraskevi
She lived during the reign of the Emperor Antoninus Pius (86μ.Χ. – 161μ.Χ.) and was the cause of the end of Christians’ persecutions. Saint Paraskevi, after dispensing all her property to the poor, carried out significant missionary work preaching the word of Jesus Christ. The torments of Christians during the first years of Antoninus’ reign did not change her faith. However, when Antoninus was blinded, Saint Paraskevi healed him and this made him change his attitude towards the Christians.
