Saint Svetlana

The Saint and martyr Fotini Svetlana along with her two sons, Victor (baptized and named Fotinos) and Joses, her brothers Anatolia, Fota, Fotis, Paraskevi and Kyriaki and the martyr Stefanos, during the Empire of Nero, the fiercest opponent of Christians, preached the Word of Christ and brought a large number of people closer to the Church. Saint Svetlana and her son Joses preached the Word of God, when Victor was fighting against the barbarians with the army of the Romans. Although victorious, when he returned to Rome he did not renounce his faith and together with his brother was crucified and dismembered. Saint Svetlana suffered horrific tortures and experienced the cruel death of her beloved sons and brothers without renouncing her faith. She died thrown into a well by Nero.
