Saint Thekla
Saint Thekla born to nationalist parents originating from Ikonio, was engaged to a pagan named Thamyris. She converted to Christianity following the preaching of Saint Paul and courageously declared her faith in Christ. When her parents and her fiance realized that they could not persuade her to change her faith, they denounced Saint Paul to the ruler Castillo, who deported him. Saint Thekla followed Saint Paul in Pisidia of Antioch and elsewhere and martyred several times for her faith. She lived the last years of her life at the Mount of Olives, where she died at the age of 90.
