The Birth of Jesus Christ

The Birth of Christ is one of the icons that compose the Twelve Feasts (the twelve most important celebrations of Orthodoxy). It is housed in the Holy Monastery of Stavronikita at Mount Athos and it is the work of the famous monk-hagiographer Theophanis, an excellent painter of the Cretan School.
