It was created miraculously, in 1870, during a dream of the nun Tatiana, in the Russian Monastery of Myrofora Saint Mary Magdalene (Jerusalem, Mount of Olives). According to Christian tradition, Tatiana dreamed of a nun who asked her to paint her portrait. When she woke up, the Nun saw in her cell the icon not made by human hand. After the first miracle, the Nun dreamed of the Virgin Mary, asking her to be transferred to her house at Gethsemane, where it remains to this day and continues to perform miracles.
