Virgin Mary of Passion
The symbols of the passion, the cross, the spear, the sponge, the nails, the crown of thorns in the hands of the Archangels Gabriel and Michael, coexist in an icon of the Virgin Mary and the Child. The original painting is attributed to the hagiographer Andreas Ritzos, in the fifteenth century, whose works are found in Italy and Patmos. The icon is exhibited in the Byzantine Museum of Athens.
